Il Forno
Our Story
Il Forno was the first pizzeria serving wood fired pizza on Curacao serving a 60-year-old family recipe for a deliciously crispy dough. The culinary roots behind Il Forno is traced back to the south of France, to Provence, the famed region sandwiched between the French Alps and the French Riviera.
The recipe for our thin-crust pizza were first introduced to the owner of Il Forno, Michel Nataf, in 1969, in the idyllic little town of Montpellier, where he became the apprentice to the Pizza Master, an Italian Sicilian who made a name for himself baking a revolutionary-style pie. Nowadays Il Forno is Curacao’s favorite family pizzeria for a casual Italian meal.

Where it started
Chez Michel was the first version of what is now Il Forno. As a teenager Michel started working on perfecting his pizza recipe. And now 60 years later, thats the recipe you have come to love at Il Forno.
Michel comes from a family of foodies. With restaurants in France, owned by his sister, to ones in Aruba owned by one of his brothers. Even Michel's kids are now in the food business.
It's safe to say that their love for food runs deep. And you can really taste this in everything that comes out of the kitchen.
Vision
We believe that the perfect pizza is simple. Made with homemade tomato sauce, the perfect blend of cheese. And topped with high quality ingredients.
